Our Aims and Objectives
Mission Statement

By working in partnership with local community groups and businesses, Gainsborough Festival aims to engage with local
residents and attract in visitors by offering an opportunity to take part in the town's celebrations, and thereby raise Gainsborough's
profile in a positive manner at home and across the East Midlands.

Vision Statement

A festival constantly developing and bringing together the whole community regardless of creed, colour, age and ability – to
celebrate the historical and national significance of Gainsborough and to engage with and promote the arts and sports, whilst
looking forwards to expand horizons and aspirations of the community.

Objectives as stated within the Constitution
To bring together as many community groups and townspeople as possible into one annual riverside event
To celebrate the diversity and regeneration of Gainsborough and to promote a cultural identity.

The Festival Committee and its Friends

The Festival is now managed completely by the community, but has a Festival Co-ordinator to undertake the
logistics/bookings/planning etc of the weekend, the salary for the this part time post comes from contributions from Gainsborough
Town Council, West Lindsey District Council and local sponsorship.  The creativity/ideas/involvement all come from local people
many of whom have key roles on the committee which meets monthly, and also from the Friends of the Festival which meets
approximately every two months.  There is always room for more community involvement - would you like to come on board and
help plan this weekend extravaganza?  We have lots of fun along the way, and meet wonderful people.

Here are some of the sub committees we have:- marketing/IT and the website/fundraising and sponsorship/workshops and
parade/market stalls/health and safety and stewarding/performance/artistic input/youth activities/sport and physical
activities/environmental issues/fireworks and music input plus fairground activities/water activities  - is there one there that you
would like to help out with?  Plus we have a Chair/ Vice Chair/ Treasurer/Secretary..
